A step too late.

My mom & I went for the evening jog today rather late around 6.45pm. So, when we went down the hill towards the car park, it was already very late, us being the only ones walking.

We saw a car coming towards us. It was very strange as cars are not allowed to drive up. Personally, I started getting very worried.

Turns out...... it was a police car. *surprise surprise*

After that, there was also a motorcyclist that went up the hill. I am not too sure who the person was, but probably it was a hired security guard (hopefully!).

I am not too sure how long have this been going on. But a strong feeling tell me that it started not too long ago.... Maybe since the murder of 8 year-old Nurin Jazlin Jazimin *click*.

For those few who have not bothered to read the news, listen to the radio, watch the news on TV...etc...

Nurin was kidnapped on 20 August 2007 (Monday) when she went to the night market in Wangsa Maju alone. Searches have been held many times (she is only one of the MANY on the missing list). But to no avail, her body was found on 20 September 2007.

No doubt, it must have been awfully hard on her parents. So hard they could not accept the body was hers. Not until DNA evidence proved it was her.

Nurin died in the most terrible way possible. Read this news report *click*.

The saddening part is that it took fellow Malaysians this long to realise how dangerous our country have become. Remember Canny Ong? Wasn't that enough to prove that we have to be on our guards at all time? Also, it's the parents' responsibility to take care of their young children's safety since children wouldn't know better! It can happen to anyone, anytime and anywhere.

Some people must be aware that we are not living in a kampung anymore! You can't just trust everyone, let your kids roam freely and think that the chances of accidents happening is slim.

So, let's hope that from now on, incidents such as the murder of young children would not happen again due to carelessness of others. And also, let's pray that all the kidnap and murder cases (many, many of them) will be solved in the near future.

Well, at least for Nurin, the FBI will be helping.

P/S: Quoted from this news article

"True, the number of missing children who remained lost far outnumber the ones found."
